The scale connects to an app (free) that works on your tablet and gives you detailed instructions for making up all kinds of drinks. The app contains hundreds of drink recipes. When you choose one, it appears on screen and tells you exactly how to make it. You assemble the drink in a cup or a mixer right on the scale, following the instructions on the screen The scale weighs each ingredient as you pour and the app lets you know when to stop and move on to the next thing. In the event that you overpour, the app will adjust the other ingredients in the recipe to keep the proportions – and the flavor profile – the same. You can also manually adjust the quantities when you want just one drink or when you need to serve a crowd.

If you don’t know what to make, you can enter the ingredients you have on hand and the app will guide you to some recipes that are a good fit. And if you like to play around with drinks on your own, the app will keep track of your own creations for you so that you can reference them, with correct measurements, down the road.
