Police Offering Reward for Return of Stolen Bourbon

pappybourbonBourbon fans have been mourning the loss of 65 cases of rare Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon that was stolen from the distillery where the prized bourbon was being aged. The bourbon is aged for 20 years and sells for upwards of $130 a bottle – if you can find it, and because of the theft, that is a more daunting task than ever. Police have been scouring the internet and following up on all leads that might lead to the return of the whiskey and the capture of the thief, but nothing has panned out so far. Many think it is unlikely that the bourbon is being sold off yet, since there are so many people on the lookout for it right now.

To entice people to help out more, the sheriff’s office in Kentucky’s Franklin County announced that a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the bourbon bandit. It’s a tempting offer, given that the stolen whiskey is worth around $26,000.┬áSome believe that the theft is likely to have been an inside job and the reward money just might be enough to make someone close to the thief come forward and help put the bourbon back where it belongs.
