Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Select
You’ve probably seen Frank Sinatra featured in Jack Daniel’s tv ads. Jack Daniels is said to have been his drink of choice, making numerous appearances on stage at his performances. He is even said to have been buried with a bottle of Jack Daniels by his side. What you may not know is that Jack Daniels has released a limited edition Sinatra Select whiskey in honor of Old Blue Eyes. The whiskey – bottled at 90 proof – starts out with the same blend that goes into the black label. It is aged in special barrels that have deep grooves carved on the wood staves inside of the barrel to bring more whiskey into contact with oak. This translates into a more robust oak flavor and a spirit with a bolder flavor, darker color and a stronger, longer finish. Its meant to be sipped neat, or serve up Sinatra’s way with a little water and ice.
This spirit sells for $165 for a generous 1 liter bottle, but sounds like a fitting tribute to Sinatra – even though die-hard Sinatra fans might want to stick to the whiskey that he drank, rather than the one that was inspired by him.
Neat is definitely the way to go. Nice article. That is one classy looking bottle! Cheers!
