Gin Rickey

A rickey is a drink that has been around since the late 1800s and was originally made with bourbon, lime and carbonated water. Around the turn of the century, it became much more popular to make the drink with gin, since the aromatics of the gin went so well with the lime, and it remained a bar mainstay for decades. It’s also an easy base drink to work with if you want to add other flavors to your drink. Gin Rickey is one of my favorites when I’m craving a little tartness.

Glassware: Highball
Method: Build

Ingredients
2 oz. Gin
3/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
4-5 oz. Soda Water

Pour the gin, and lime juice into an ice filled glass. Top it off with soda water and garnish with a wedge of lime.
