Dairy Farmer Makes Vodka from Milk

Black CowVodka is typically made from grains or potatoes, but they aren’t the only things that can be used to make this distilled spirit. Milk, for instance, is now being made into vodka. A British dairy farmer Jason Barber invented the unusual-sounding drink, combining his job as a dairy farmer with his love of distilled spirits. The milk comes directly from grass fed cows and it is separated into curds – which go into cheeses – and whey. The whey is fermented into beer using yeast to convert the milk sugars into alcohol, then the “milk beer” is distilled into vodka. The vodka is then triple-filtered for smoothness before being bottled as Black Cow Vodka.
